Hey guys. I have a 14.5" AR. I am looking at buying a muzzle device. What should I Buy? Flash hider, comp, linear comps... the list goes on and on. I am building a light weight rifle. I would like something that improves accuracy. my shooting varies. anywhere from 5 yards to 500 yards. what do you recommend? And please, based on performance... not looks. Thanks guys

Here we go!

Gotta say I like the function of the battlecomp, pricey though. I'm sure there are products that work just as well for half the price.

I'm not 100% if anything will really improve ACCURACY? Probably just get you back on target faster? Just a guess though, I could be wrong

I've tried or had these devices

Battlecomp 1.0 Comp
AAC 51t FLash Hider
AAC Brakeout
Ares-Armor Effin-A Mk1
Griffin Armament M4SD II Flash Hider

I'm really liking the GA M4SD on my Mk18 clone. The AAC 51t & Brakeout models are porky little things weight wise. The Brakeout has become destined for a RECCE build, the 51t was sold off. The Effin-A is a neat concept, perfect for PDWs up to 10.5"with its' tune-ability. I just wish Ares still made the Mk1 and not the hideous Mk2 currently out. Eventually I'll aquire a Noveske KX-3/5 or a GA M4SD Muzzle Brake to try. As much as I'd like a Surefire MBK I refuse to pay upwards of $200 for a device...

Is any one of the above better than the other? I don't think so, each does what they're designed to do. Really depends on what you expect out of a muzzle device in terms if performance.

A2 and a proper grip / stance with the rifle is pretty much all you need.

If you are competing in 3 Gun or something like that, you may want to try a brake, otherwise the juice isn't worth the squeeze.

thanks guys. i really just want something tht sticks like glue to the target. the flash hider that came with my rifle just doesn't cut it it bounces on every shot. keep them coming

I'm in the same boat. I've been watching a lot of vids on YouTube demonstrating weapon function with various muzzle devices. The two that I really like, and I say "really like" on a cost standpoint as well, are the Griffin Armament M4SD II Flashcomp and also the Griffin M4SD II Muzzle Brake. Check them out for yourself...I think you'll get answers to a few of your questions.
