what muzzle device do you recommend?

Dlask A6. My small 10 year old can hammer away with my ar, and actually hit the target too. Otherwise A2, because I've spent a lot of cash on stuff that didn't live up to the hype.

I say stick with things like the A2 Bird cage and the Triad, simply because they offer acceptable muzzle climb mitigation and do a good job of breaking up the flash. Avoid muzzle breaks on anything 5.56N or so (no point really).

Griffin M4SDII is my favourite. I use it on my 3 gun riffle. I just bought the simple Jerry Miculek break. I thought a full muzzle break would be noticeably different from the Griffin, but it's not. The Griffin is awesome and still my preferred choice for fast follow up shots in 3 gun. The price of Jerry's break is sweet and I have it mounted on my second gun (tuned to the 1 o'clock position see vid below), about $50 to your door from his web site.

This guy does a pretty comprehensive review of 35 muzzle devices of all types, and he has a video for the review as well.

One device he didn't cover is the Griffin M4SD. I've shot the A2 and the M4SD side by side. For staying on target and recoil reduction, the Griffin was the winner hands down. It was only slightly bested by the A2 in the flash department.

For CQB I love my Lantac Dragon on my 16"... Double taps are tight!!!

Also love my Smith Vortex on my 10.5... Takes the flash right out, even on night shoots...

I also run the vortex on my 10.5, and there is no flash at all. The vortex is the best flash hider on earth bar none imo. When it comes to brakes, the lantac dragon is king. For compensators the griffin is where it's at especially now that they offer the QD blast shield. Which is making me think about taking my vortex off so I can run the GA comp with QD blast shield.

thanks guys. i really just want something tht sticks like glue to the target. the flash hider that came with my rifle just doesn't cut it it bounces on every shot. keep them coming

I'm in the same boat. I've been watching a lot of vids on YouTube demonstrating weapon function with various muzzle devices. The two that I really like, and I say "really like" on a cost standpoint as well, are the Griffin Armament M4SD II Flashcomp and also the Griffin M4SD II Muzzle Brake. Check them out for yourself...I think you'll get answers to a few of your questions.

On a 14.5" barrel and you can't maintain muzzle on target in 3 gun or cqb? Sorry dudes, it's not the gun...

Work out more or check your posture, stance and technique.

Strongly recommend the Are Armor Effin-A MKII. Armtac has them in right now. They are tune-able, so once you have your stance a grip in good shape, this tune-able comp allows you to ring out the last bit of stability by allowing you to adjust the comp for your rifle and stance and grip.

I'm actually looking for one for my 10.3" rifle...OP has a different barrel length, but is opting for the same result, hence the reason I suggested he take a look at the two Griffin muzzle devices I noted.

Sweet overview. I wish weight was always included in every review. I feel it is one of the most important features.

I find it bounces on rapid fire. Also slightly in modified prone, which i believe is because of the use of different muscle groups to hold the rifle. I stay on target... I want to stay on "V". At this point I am fine tuning. keeping that dream of a perfect score alive... haha

Better form and fundamentals will keep you on target.

Everyone gets it from the people preaching about form. Yes that has alot to do with it. I am a pretty solid guy and I have no problem dumping mags out of my 10.5 with a flash hider and being accurate especially at the speed I'm firing. However, can we keep this conversation geared towards the hardware please rather than a "you need to workout..blah blah" type thread, the fact remains anything with a good comp or good brake will have a positive effect on the recoil characteristics of the rifle. Anything I've built and fired with a griffin or AAC brake has always grouped tighter than with a flash hider at the expense of muzzle signature.
