What oils you guys using?

I use the G96 Polymer-friendly stuff for lots of things, Ballistol, Lithium Spray and grease in a tube, Silicone Spray, and this Food-grade lubricant (which I have misplaced).

This covers my guns, crossbows, knives, fishing & camping stuff, and vehicle stuff.

WD-40 for cleaning stuff, although.....I hear that it's going away.

Been using Weapon Shield CLP for almost 25 years.
During that time, I've took some effort to try others...Break-Free, Frog Lube, almost all Hoppe's products, Ballistol, Slip 2000.

I've also done the solvent for cleaning and then oil for lubing routine.

When I run out of Weapon Shield, which is soon...I'll probably go back to Break-Free CLP.

After nearly 40 years of shooting, I'm not as meticulous at cleaning/ lubing anymore.. and to be honest, it didn't really make a difference.
Just clean and lube or use all-in-one like CLP when things get a bit gunky and don't worry about it too much.

G96 for this guy. Really like their products.

I also have moved to BoreTech for cleaning products and so far so good. For heavy carbon I have used Kroil.

I'm also a G96 guy since it first came out. Love it's creeping abilities.
Home made Ed's Red is another of my staples I use regularly on my shotgun barrels when scrubbing out the bores and debunking receivers on any firearm!
Hoppe's #9 is still my favorite after shave :love:

Thank you guys :)

With my airgun toys I have a full setup of lubricants.
My 30 Mpa compressor (4500 psi=300bars ) for example is running on european dual turbo charger car oil :) if good for porsche why would be not good enough for a chinese compressor.

The CF power burner is a different story, the copper removal from rifling I never thought about, also a lot of carbon to take care of.
And what I have noticed these pb steel parts somehow wanna rust different, must be in a steel material...

Wipe out for the bore. G96 soaked for the rest and the bore after it’s been dry patched. With G96 , carbon just wipes off in most places and yes it prevents or stops rust.

On the high wear points I use a few drops of shell Roteilla full synthetic T6 0w40 diesel oil. Works great in heat or cold and with the G96 it keeps everything very slick.

This combo was awesome when we could use our ARs. It also worked great on the com block semi autos after using corrosive ammo. Just flush them with hot water, windex for a minute, flush out with hot water and apply above. Zero rust or corrosion, and super slick.

Ballistiol / end thread.

There is like no need to use oils formulated for car engines. There are going to be additives and chemicals the gun doesn't need as humans don't need either.

Slip 2000 ! I put that #### on everything :giggle:
I have mostly been using the grease tho just a very thin layer applied with a hobby brush and grease also does not migrate from gravity when left stored and it has very good properties but it is more expensive though
I have used G96 a lot before as well but now exclusive to slip 2000
