Closed bolt Marlin for $300?
Check the bore with a bore light.
Gotta ACT and PROVE it first..........right?

You won't find these on the EE very often for three brown ones.

You said he wanted $300, offer up mawr if'n ya gartzs the heart.

Play around in the EE for a bit.
Go back a bunch of pages and you should get a worth value that way.

i ended up checking it out, from the light i used it looked like the barrel was pretty pitted, looked like a decent amount of rust. And all that said i only have surplus so i seen allot of rough guns. i ended up passing maybe it was just the light i was using but the first thing i could see was pitting scared me off pretty quick.

Maybe it was lead deposits.... hard to tell if the barrel is dirty that's for sure. Good low ball opportunity I guess and see if it can be cleaned up or shoots well regardless.

True, I didn't really want to chance it tho. Not when i could spend about 200 more to get a newer model marlin 336. Not sure but the stock felt abit more cramped then a 336 to me too. Abit uncomfetable. Was there a kids version?

Marlin's made youth models but if it felt short it may have been cut down?
I'd prefer the round style bolt over the square for a user gun..... the square bolt seems more like something a collector would be interested in.
