What optic do you like on your big bore ?

1.5-5x Leupolds on most.
2.5-10 Nightforce on my 375 Ultra.
2.5X Leupolds on a couple of heavys.

I've got a 3.5-10 Leupold on one .375, and a 3-9 Zeiss on another. Since I view them as general purpose hunting rifles it all works out. I had a 2.5X Ultralightweight on my .416 for awhile, before changing it out for a 1.75-6 VX111. Although the 2.5 has some eye-relief advantages on real kickers, it's a dim little bugger when the light goes down. Besides, I'm not sure what great feats I'm supposed to be able to do at 2.5X that I would somehow be unable to do at 3X on a variable.

LMFAO :D :D

The optics are atrocious...Can't believe the Leupold name is on the outside!
Used they are almost free......Which is about right.
The eye relief is the only reason to own them IMHO.

I didn't say I liked them!:D

My .378 and .460 Weatherby's both wore a Leupold 2.5-8 with a heavy duplex, they have 5" of eye relief up to about 5X and then drop to 3.5" at the top end. My latest is a Ruger 1 in 450/400 NE 3" with a Bushnell 6500 1.25-8, while not the same recoil as the Weatherby's, the 6" of eye relief, which only drops to 5" at top end helps with scope placement on a Ruger 1.

you dont need the cqb capabilites of the 1-4. I would go with the 2.5-10 NF and not look back. I have the 1-4 nf and love the optic, have many others but the 2.5-10 is going on my finnlight 300 win mag

Go with the Zeiss 1.8-5.5. 4" eye relief consistent through the mag range. Having the eye relief change with the power is not funny and it is not fun.

I have a 2X Leupold EER scope on my .375, and I had a 1.5-5X Leupold on my .416. I wouldn't worry too much about not being able to see your target at long range, most critters you would go after with the .375 are pretty easy to see at normal hunting ranges. That being said, a trip to Africa might allow for a shot on a very small antelope or even a baboon. Both can be challenging without a bit more magnification if the range stretches out a little. The scope on the M-70 I used in Tanzania was a 2.5-8X, and it was perfect for all occasions.

big-bore scopes.

My .375 Taylor Mauser wears a 2.5-8 Leupold (for now), but am thinking 1.5-5 Leupold down the road and my .375 H+H Browning Safari has a Weaver 2.5 post&crosshair just cuz it looks so damn good.

I have a leopuld VV-11 1-4X20 on my Marlin 444P outfitter with quick release bases and I really like it. Its worth looking at.

The 1.5-5x Leupold is the best compact scope you can lay your hands on for the stated purpose. I wouldn't scope a heavy bolt rifle with anything else.

My 20'' BRNO 602 chambered in 375 H&H usually wears a NECG peep sight, but when I want a scope I have a steel tubed weaver K2.5 with a post reticle.

i ahve a 1.5 to 6 savarski on my 458 but i took my last deer at 300 yards on the run with my 3006 and the leupold was on 4 power as i was hunting in the bush the day before and forgot to bring it back to 9 power after a bottle of wiskey the night before it was right around first legal light
