What optic will be like my Elcan Specter DR without the weight?

I ran an Elcan Specter DR on my Tavor and the gun + optic was rather heavy. On my AR I have an Aimpoint Micro and tried out the Elcan on it because I simply love the Elcan optics, reticle, FOV, everything about it... except the weight. My AR is fairly light and putting the Elcan on it makes it feel like a brick has been strapped on the top. Kind of looks that way too. Is there anything on the market anyone would point me at to give me the 1x/4x and a reticle vs Aimpoint Micro w. a flip away magnifier with the optical performance of the Elcan? I've tried scopes like the Strike Eagle and even at 1x it's nothing like the Elcan. Mind you the elcan is 4x the cost too, so please suggest away. Thanks for your input.

I run a 3x EoTech magnifier behind my 512. It works fine, but is quite heavy. The optical quality is NOTHING like the Elcan. That said, I've not seen any glass as nice as Elcan. Only thing close to Elcan is Trijicon ACOG.

Elcan features and clarity come with 2 negatives. Weight and cost, but blow anything comparative (features wise) out of the water.

If you are not okay with these trade offs you need to re-evaluate what sacrifices you are willing to endure, and see what is available in those categories.

While I typically hate when people respond with what I'm going to suggest, I feel it's reasonable to mention because I absolutely love the DR. If a tavor with a specter on it is too heavy for your liking, I'd recommend hitting the weights, as that's exactly how I ran my tavor and found it was by far the best optic combo, and I've tried aimpoint, ACOG's, variable 1-4's and nothing really fit it as well.

That being said, I did just sell my tavor because in the end, I hated it for all it was aside from its "white male privilege" also know as non-restricted.
