What optic would be best on a SL-8

I'm a bit unsure what I'm gonna use for an optic on the new gun and am eager to hear what you guys recoment.

It will see some target use but really very little range time. I'm hoping to use it for hunting (not big game) as well. Let me know what you guys got goin on?
 
I think you should use what your comfortable with using based on your current economic situation. I like Leupold & Nightforce myself, as far as the size of scope go with something in between big (8X20) & Small (1X4) power.
For varmints I have both Leupold's 4.5X14X50 & 6.5X20X50 Power & they have been very good to me, they have the Varmint reticle & are good in Low light conditions like early morning Coyote hunt which your SL-8 would be great for!!!
 
I have the falcon menace 1.5-5 on mine. The rational being that the lower powered scope would be good for a tactical semi-auto as opposed to the higher magnification scope on my LTR.

Seems to be a good scope that goes well with the rifle.
 
The reticle is like a cross hair with a dot in the middle. I like it. Search for Allen Gunworks using google. They seem to be good folks to deal with and have Falcon Menace in Canada
 
Well I went with the leupold 2-7x33. I looked at a bunch of optics at Cabellas and it seemed to have the best glass for the price and the warrantee tipped the scale. The zeiss was really nice too but almost double the price. This is my second optic with high end glass and I gotta say there is not comparison to lower end scopes. I'm gonna test fire this setup this morning and report back.
