I know it was discussed somewhere on the board already but couldn't find it.
Friend of mine wants to paint the buttstock black and he wants to know how to prepare the surface and what paint is the best. He wants to match the new furniture from Wolverine in color and texture.

I've been thinking about doing this as well.

Personally, I would simply sand down the stock, to remove the 'shine', and then spray it with a few good coats of fiberglass primer.

Then, I would apply the spray-on truck bed liner from Canadian Tire. It has a nice textured finish. Then, I would finish with a matte clear coat.

I sanded my stock down with fine sandpaper to get rid of the shine and then sprayed it with bed liner. I did not use a clear coat...

I am painting my VZ58 furniture with spray on "Truck Bed liner" (black) I have painted a few stocks before and it doesn't chip or peel off.

Just remove the parts, clean with a degreaser, let dry and spray on and let dry.

This stuff sticks to everything... so becareful...and is very hard to remove from your skin.

Thank you very much gents, I really apprecaite it.

POP: thx for the warning, I will wear suggical gloves, and make a "Spray both" our of card board boxes, and see how that works, would hate to get that stuff on any vehicles

Will try it and post the results here.

regards and all the best
