What Piece of Kit are you most Excited to Test This Year?

So I just got my Sitka Celcius bib's in this morning so I figured I'd share with you my first impressions.

First off, the stitching, and fit and finish is top notch...not a single stray piece of string that needs to be pulled off ect ect. 5 pockets total on this bib, 1 kangaroo pouch at chest level with side pockets off it to double as hand warmers, two standard pockets (at your hips), and two small leg pockets.

The outer layer is similar to the synthetic stuff on most (performance underwear), but *much* thicker, and it has a sewn in fleece liner.

Honestly, I was a bit dissapointed in how little you get for the money. Now I know what the "Sitka Layering System" is all about. But honestly?? At 400$ Canadian for a set of bib's? What do they do that similar designed bib's don't? I tell ya...I sure am glad I got them on sale for 99$ US.

All in all these will be a good "walking pant" for cold October/November days, and I'm sure that they will take me into December when the temps drop to -10 or more *when using the proper layers*.

So...not a good evaluation I know...but I'm a Fudd so what I know couldn't fill a tea cup...but lets just say....for 99$ YES I'm happy...for 400$....well...I'd be a little hesitant, unless of course I had Chuck Nelson's money :D .

The shop I work in carries Sitka Gear; I don't think it's good value for the dollar at all; $400 for a jacket or bibs that are not waterproof is nuts IMO.

River's West is twice the gear for less money.

What you paid is probably still less than what Sitka is worth given the quality though.. good find.

Right now my just recently finished/modified Rem 700 LSS in 375RUM just need to finish sighting in the scope and I'm ready to get the job done...

I also plan on using my T/C Contender carbine in 375JDJ this fall put it together in Feb/March of this year shot a very nice black bear with it in May but want to see how it does on deer/moose.

and when the season switches over to predator hunting I am totally into breaking in my new Sako 85 Grey Wolf in 22-250 on the first yote/wolf that comes into the call.

Finally got with the times and got a hydration day pack from OGIO. Also trying some Guide Gear 1000gr Thinsulate Zip up boots, although I'm not too optimistic about them....

Almost forgot. I picked up some Victorianox butchering knives. Hopefully they will hold an edge better then our old, no name ones.

Bib's are the last place I'd spend a dollar. Let alone 99 of them. I could say the same about your boots.

The Miendel Canada is by far the ultimate hunting boot.
Very comfortable and the best ankle support available in a tall hunting boot.

A little expensive, but worth every dime.

I've never had better boots, check the AJ Brooks website. You may have to wait for them to come in but it's so worth it.

I used to wear bibs hunting all the time, but its too much work when you've gotta take a crap...:p

The good thing about those Celcius bib's is they're very lightweight and fit close to your body. The bib part is kinda "bleh", but I didn't seem to notice it much tonight while I was out messing around looking for man eating black bears.

Well, I'm heading up to 21A for 11 days, see you guys in a while..

This is what I'm most excited to try out this year.
