If you want 20k per year save your money and get a Dillon 650 if you plan on shooting more than 20k a year get a 1050! I am shooting about 10k a year with my Lee and find it hard to keep up. If I had the money I would have bought a Dillon right away.

Aw Crap. Between my brother shooting .38 Super (500 rnds a week) and me shooting .40 (650 rounds a week) I guess we should look at a 1050 :(

Damn, this is just like Trap Shooting.


The 'cheap part' of getting into the sport was the GUN!!!!!!!!
 
Caliber changes on a 1050 are...well...not fun. It's not the kind of press where you load 1,000, switch claibers and load another 1,000. The switch over would take almost as long as loading...

Unless you can load 5k or so at a time (before switching calibers) a pair of 650's may be a better chocie.

Frankly, I don't find the caliber changes on the 1050 to be that hard or take that long. Unfortunately, it is expensive, as a full up conversion is around $400 for a new toolhead, powder measure and die, and conversion kit.

If you have the full kit though, I can switch mine over in 10-15 minutes.

Another option for the guy who feels he could really use a 1050, and wants some flexability, is adding a 650 without buying the extra casefeeder.
 
i've got my XL 650 recently, made the purchase trough GHOST PRODUCTS/CZ CUSTOM and i couldn't be more happy about the pricing for what i've got.on top of that, ANGUS HOBDELL and ROB BAGNATO are realy top business people and they make every deal internationaly shipped very safe and smooth...

even with the shipping fees and the custom tax(i saved more money there than expected, but cant say how much, i would have to kill myself doing that) i saved around 500$ compared to what it would cost here..

im not looking at the 1050 at all guys. not at all. as good as they sound, they are way out of my budget.

ok taking a second look at both the xl 650 vs the hornady LNL ap..

blue weighs in at 544.95 with cal of choice for free.(i think anyways?)

the red weighs in at 499.54. without cal of choice.(but with promo i might get the 500 free bullets?)

but for the warranty there almost the same but with blue winning as far as i hear.

therefore, to me blue wins. can anybody make any other valid points that i missed or messed up. or can anybody win me over to the red again. i feel like a damn fish out of water.

if it helps, i will be buying in the states. much cheaper as far as i know and am concerned. o ya i always liked blue better as a color than red :D
 
You won't go wrong with either the 650 or the LNL...both are very good presses.
