What range do you sight in at?

my 10/22s are bang on at 100m. This means for most close distances, I get hits using the upper mark where the thick duplex becomes thin, and for anything further, I use the bottom as a starting point and wait and watch for the dust that is kicked up on impact.

Had a blast with the gophers on the weekend. I also find that this works well for the range.

I have mine set for grouse range. It's about an inch high at 25M. Just about bang on at 50M. This is using a red dot.. I've never scoped my current 10/22... had it since '97 or so... :D

For my hunting .22 (grouse) Im at dead on a 35yrds , so my Target .22 (Model 70) Im Set for 1.5 High at 100yrds Gets my alright groups at 150yrds.

Approx 30 yds. as your bullet on average crosses the line of sight
at around 26 yds, is approx 1" Hi at 40 yds, crosses the sight line
headed down at approx. 56 yds.

30 yds gives you point blank with approx variation of 1/2" out to
60 yds.

slapshot pretty much as it right on.

A friend of mine last year while at a range near Montreal took my Savage .22 and hit a dead on shot at 400yrds. I have no idea how he managed that one and even after another 300 or so rnds he didn't manage to repeat the shot.

I have a Bushnell Legend 5x15 on my Marlin 7000 so I'm still trying to guestimate what will be good with this combo. I will probably try to get it settled in with Velocitors, as it will be primarilly a gopher gun. Maybe I will set the zero for 100 yards. If anyone can tell me the 25 yard (approx) POI increments (for a 100 yard zero) I would sure appreciate it.

Good lord!

Anyway, 50 yards open sights (my Brno), but will likely try 100 with my scoped 10/22. 100 yards is actually pretty far for a .22LR. 300 yards? Wow!

I initially sighted in at 50m but was told to switch to 25m because a zero at 25m (with a 22lr) will also be zeroed for somewhere b/w 70-80m (depending on ammo). I used that method for quite awhile and it seemed to work quite well in the gopher fields. I could certainly tell a difference between ammo brands though (Win Power Points, my personal favorite, had quite a different zero relative to most subsonic brands IIRC - this was two summers ago so it has been awhile  )

50 yard zero for my 22s, that's good enough for hunting. Past that I find it changes quite a bit depending on the type of ammo (I have 4 22s and can never remember which ammo is best in which rifle:p

Definitely not 100m.
When I had a .22lr and sighted it in at 100m everything else (distance) was too far off for me.

I don't remember what I ended up setting it at, but 25m sounds safe and like the best compromise.
The .22lr can't go very far - accurately.

With my old Mossbergs I sight the scope in at 50M, and then play out at 50, 100, and even 200M (large steel ram to shoot at). :D
