What reloading equipment to buy?

said perfectly and i agree completely buy the right tool for the job the first time and never buy again vs buying junk every year. as far as progressive for pistol i use a hornady LNL AP and love it i just loaded 1000 9MM last night. Although if i did it again id probably be drinking the blue koolaid and im sure in the next few years i see a 1050 in my reloading room. then for single stage i like redding and Forester i use a redding big boss 2 and it is excellent. like many of these guys have said a single stage is probably best to learn on and if you intend on loading rifle ammo in future you will need one anyway so starting with a good single stage would be excellent. however if you only intend to load pistol then a progressive is what you want and if you are mechanically inclined and like to read you can start on a progressive safely ( I DID ). just run 1 at a time through every step for the first couple hundred rounds watching every step and learning how every part is accomplished. always be careful when reloading and never allow distractions that is where mistakes will happen and most of all read ABC'S OF RELOADING COVER TO COVER!!!!

buy once, cry once! buy the best you can afford, it's cheaper in the long run. Progressive for pistols and single stage for precision work.

If your not in a hurry to buy, check out a gun show or two in your area. I always see stuff that i already have and it`s usually priced good. One fellow couldn`t sell an old press so put a for "free" sign on it. Not one person looked at it, a buddy of mine picked it up just before the show closed. He sold it for $25 later that year.
