What remington 700 is this?

It's a police return with no m24 markings. I bought it sight unseen, just wanted the McCann rail and the rest will be most likely sold off as parts.

I haven't received it yet so I haven't decided what its fate will be. I'll do a once over and decide.

Just wanted input if someone may know if its an actual remington build, an early 700 police model or a police armourer build.

Epps had two of these and a PGW's timberwolf for 4500$. All I know its definitely a McCanns rail.

A guy on ####### is selling that rail for 1500$. I got that rail with a questionable remington 700 with some kind of adjustable synthetic stick for 1000$ shipped to the door.

I don't think i did bad at all.

Not much info but I did find a spec sheet for the MilCan ST1 and a picture, It does sure look like one.

You didn't mention the caliber nor action length.

308 Winchester and short action ? although the bolt looks longer...

That's a hellova lot of rail.

It’s a short action you can count the pic slots if wanted. The LA rails that green peak whole sale was selling that “through” fishing world on GP are listed as outa stock.

It’s an interesting find but for building a larp clone of a m24a2 or Mk13 mod it’s wrong.

Now that's what I was looking for great info.
Good catch pokey, I could not zoom in enough to get a good look. That one came with detachable bottom metal.

It's a .308 short action and soon as it arrives I'll post more pictures. On g u n p o s t 0they are selling a new long action McCann rail for 1500$ plus tax out of Hamilton. I felt this was a good value deal for my M24 forgery build and then sell the rifle. I might just keep it now.

As soon as exomax indicated it might be an ST1 and gave me a direction to look I found this.

Even the basic one is fully blueprinted and 4300$ 2020 prices. Not bad for 1000$ all in for not knowing what I'm buying with a shot out bore. Sometimes you need a leap of faith. LOL

There is no way of knowing what was done to the rifle, how it was treated while in service with whatever agency had it.
When originally set up, it ws a first class rig.

Just picked this from ellwood epps he had two of these. What do I have?

Once you have it in hand, reach out to Keith @ Milcun with the serial # and he should be able to fill in the blanks for ya. It would be nice to know who made the barrel and stock? Cheers

BTW, before I would start "changing" anything, I would ask Keith what his "headspace" specs are and have it checked? that should tell you enough about the barrel and usage etc.

Thanks for all the help and information, very helpful 👍 .

Looks like I'm going to keep her as is. As soon as I get her, I'll do a full cleaning and inspection and go from there.

Looks like 2026 is starting on the right foot.

I'll post pictures and more info as soon as I have some

Once again thank you for all the helpful insite and information.

I got the rifle and did a once over. Overall very nice, rail in excellent condition and an actual McCann, receiver has been blueprint and in very good condition, the stock looks like a Robertson Composite inc. That is fully adjustable. The barrel on the other had is done, maybe good for everyday shooting but that's about it.

I decided to hold onto it right know but if I decide to sell it; Keith will get the 1st at it.

Overall Im very happy with it and it comes with a canadian pedigree.
