I like the Elcan reticle, and having fired it using "hold off" for wind/elevation and the click method, I know how versatile it can be.
I know it's got a history, but my Gen IV hasn't failed me in 10,000+ rounds.
The Mildot is designed to help you determine ranges, and the Elcan has that ability as well. The horizontal stadia bar on the right has a 2nd bar below it. That space corresponds to:
100m Head
200m Torso
300m Torso/Head
400m Knees/torso
500m Ankles/Head
