Savage 114 Classic that I've upgraded to 6.5x55, have had it glass bedded and the trigger done. Topped with a 4.5-14 VX3L CDS. I hope to get a load built for it this year, never had a chance last fall as the barrel only showed up a week or so before season started. The superformance 140 gr SST, did a number on a nice deer at about 200 yards though. Bang flop right there.

Ill be using my 300 RUM For Mule Deer this Fall cant wait to hit the range and get set up for some LR Shots.

My first time ever hunting this year for deer. I've set up a FN Winchester 70 30-06 with a Zeiss 3-9x40mm a hunting rig. Still working on loads for it for deer but Nosler Accubond 165gr with IMR 4350 loaded at 0.010" inch off the lands is doing just shy of an MOA now. I will probably tweak the distance to the lands to see how good it can get.
I also have a Cooper Jackson Game 280 AI that is on order and should be here in time for fall but maybe not in time for me to work up a load and get confident with it. If this hunting thing sticks then it might be used for moose or caribou next year.
I'm having second thoughts about my Win 70 though. Love the rifle but now that I've spent some time shooting another Cooper Varminter .223 I have, I find the trigger on the Winchester awfully heavy. Considering selling it to a friend and getting a Sako or Cooper in 30-06 or .308 as my main hunting rig.
Love that Winchester though
Bet I'd regret it if I sold it but a set trigger on a Sako sounds very nice.

You are crazy. Crazy cool haha. Nice hunting rigs bud. I'd love to tag some yotes with my 556 VZ 58 Sporter.I have yet to buy a traditional hunting centerfire rifle and don't feel the least bit handicapped for the coming hunting seasons.

most times ive been out ive used a savage 111 in a 7MM rem mag, way to big for deer, used a scoped 30-30 last year, sold that now ive got either my parker hale 303 or my no4mk1 303 that i re finished
I think it was on E.E., lately, that I saw one in 308, for $1600.
Guess I'll have to up my budget, and start saving.

I hope that this doesn't sound to mundane but I'm starting to get that itch a little for the upcoming hunting season. The draw results will be available within the next couple of weeks and I'm hoping to jump for joy if I receive the mule deer buck special license. Regardless, the firearm I'm using for everything is my newly purchased Ruger #1 chambered in the 300 H&H. A couple more sessions of load development and it will be ready. What have you guys decided on?
