what rifle fits this magazine?

Just like the title says. My buddy at camp bought these magazines but they dont fit his rifle. What firearm are they for? I think he also got a good deal on them. There are two of them the same.

Remington 742 semi auto. The raised portion in the 2nd pic holds the bolt back after the last shot.

generally the semi's have a button to release the bolt after firing last round to change the mag
