Weatherby Mark V Deluxe, .270 Wby. Always wanted one, (a Weatherby) and it takes a lot of willpower to keep driving past Pheonix Range since I stopped by there last spring and had a long look at one.
 
hmmmmmmmmmmm not actually looking, but the only one missing is a 50s vintage Mannlicher-Schoenauer carbine in .243 Winchester. If I came across that late in the year, I would be tempted. and yes, I know there is one at Cabela's....it speaks to me in the night....

Alas, it just sold, so I guess I'm safe for this year.

Like Chilly Willy, I kinda like the 700 CDL SF Ltd .260, but what's with the twist rate? If I buy a .260, I might want to try the 160-grainers. I believe the 1:10 will stabilize the 140-grainers, but the 160?
Still, I have wanted a full-size .260 for a while...and I've never owned a 700 yet......
 
the 1-10 could be a typo...Remington has always done their 260s with 1-9 twists, and considering their factory ammo consists of the long 120 grain ballistic tip (accutip) and the 140 grain cor lokt & cor lokt ultra, I'd be suprised if they tried to undertwist those bullets...my guess is typo
 
We'll need to dig into that a little bit more until I'd consider buying one! Maybe I'll fire off an e-mail today to Remington for clarification. I handled the 700 Mil Spec in 308 yesterday.....I don't like that super fat palm swell...so thats off my list.

its just the standard HS Precision stock on it though, right?
im sure it wouldnt take long to sell the stock, or even trade it for one of the older SA Varmint series HS Precision stocks which were identical except for a slimmer palm swell and slightly different finish.
or you could sell the stock for $300ish and put the money towards a Mcmillan.
 
looking at adding a Ruger Frontier in .358 or .338 (still doing some research) to my small collection. As far as a scope for that bad boy, I'm not sure, probably a fixed power 4x maybe 6x ( more research to be done).
 
Probably going to be looking for another Marlin .22 to compliment my current bolt Marlin .22.. Maybe another Ruger 10/22, dunno yet. I got everything else I need so that's all I could think of. LR
 
hopefully nothing new for me this year, I need to be more responsible with my money for a while. But that's unlikely; I'm weak-willed.

I have a few project guns that I should fix up instead of acquiring new one:
-a Winchester model 70 in need of a new barrel - it's currently a 243, but I think I want something else - not sure what.
-two mauser projects on the go and in need of barrels. One may end up being a 22-250 or some other form of heavy barreled varmint cartridge. The other has been modified to feed 284 cases well, so maybe a 338-284, or maybe it can remain a regular 284.
-my 7.62x39 Stevens. It shoots, but needs some minor mag work and a ppc bolt face to feed properly from the mag. A few hours of my time and about $70 required
-a 338 that needs a new firing pin and a mag box, which I have, just need to install
-mauser 98 project gun in 458, for which I've lost all enthusiasm. I just need to get off my ass and finish inletting the stock. Then the metalwork needs a finish of some sort; I'm kinda partial to flat black arma-coat.
