What rifle powders are not extruded and here to find AA1680?

Anyone know who may have AA1680 in stock in Ontario?

On a side note, what powders are not extruded powders and are good for loading rifle calibers?

Win 748 and h335 are ball powder and meter well. Tesro might have some vv powders

BL(C)-2 is a ball powder. Works well in 308 and 223

I have been looking online at powder and primer retailers for months. Higginsons and tesro have a few basic powders, but it’s tough out there. I wonder when it’ll come back in stock

What caliber are you looking at? What weight bullets are you looking at using?

Can’t be 300 blackout - he said rifle caliber…..LOL. Flame suit on!

N133 and N135 work great in .223 and small caliber rifle. There is plenty of powder that will do a great job..no need for 1680.

Well, the issue you run into is that ANY ball powder will meter well, but there’s probably 40 different ball powders out there. Some are good for one caliber, some are good for another. Some are good for one weight, some are good for another. There’s no ONE powder, ball or otherwise, that’s good for everything. I screwed up and bought some Winchester 760 because I knew it is good for 308.(working from memory) Problem is my reloading manuals show it for 180gr bullets and above. I generally don’t shoot anything over 168gr.

You need to decide what caliber and what weight bullets you plan to use, and then look for a ball powder that will work for what you’re looking at, or even what’s available. If you pick up the Lyman reloading manual, they list the most common powders, and whether they are ball, extruded, etc.
