What rifle used in Sochi Olympic games?

Years ago only the men competed with a full bore military rifle sometimes in the caliber of their country. It must have been brutal to ski and shoot the heavy stuff. The new rifles are a work of art and the female competitors are also a work of art.
I remember the women in the Olympics were some hard cases.

I had an Anschutz biathlon rifle model 1403 for years, but a local guy talked me out of it. He probably only had it for a few weeks before he sold or traded it. It wasn't up to todays standards but I liked the little rifle. I hate to be talked out of something by someone who doesn't appreciate a gun, or how rare it is, or what I went through to get it. I won't deal with them anymore they just P*ss me off no sense of value.

What sense of value did you have for it to let it go !? You received fair value for it or you would not have sold ! Let it go and don't bear malice.

If he wouldn't have said it was for his kid who wanted to get into biathlon shooting just to get a deal, I wouldn't have cared. That was the method to get it, then turn it over for a quick buck, kind of burned me.

I'm with Albayo. For me its hard to sell a gun .. have only sold one so far. An Israeli Mauser (Czech 98 converted to 7.62) to a friend about 6 years ago ... at least I know he wont sell it - he's very attached to the historical significance of the rifle.

Regarding the original thread .. my daughter - a teenager - spent last weekend on cross country ski's and now she wants to try biathlon ... imho thats one great thing about the Olympics - exposing kids to some sports that they might not otherwise see. I'll start her this summer with a pellet rifle and jogging and see where it goes. .. I knew I would get good use out of the Weihrauch HW35 I picked up a few years ago...
