So I thought I had it figured out, but now I am not so sure. Reading so much my head is spinning. I have a T3 in 7mm rem mag.

I would REALLY appreciate anyone who owns one of these rifles in a hard recoiling caliber to help me decide what to buy. I am mounting a Bushnell Elite 4200 3-9x40

Thank you soooooooo much. My head hurts.......DNZ, Talley, Leupold Weaver, Burris the list goes on and on

Mike

Look at the Sako Optilock rings and bases. They're heavier and expensive but rock solid! Built in recoil lug, and they use plastic inserts like the Burris signature stuff. I run a set on my older Tikka M695 in 25-06 with absolutely no worries.

Talley one piece rings are what I have on my T3 in 06. Nice and light. When you're packing your rifle all day every ounce you can save helps, in my opinion.

I run Talley one-piece lightweights on every rifle I have .338WM and under and beat them up in airplanes, on horses and backpacks and they simply never lose zero. Here's a set on a Tikka 30-06

Nothing but Talley!! Better integrity because of solid block construction. They're lighter too. My gunsmith swears by them. I have them on all my rifles.

i have talleys on one and weaver bases ans warne on the other. i dont remember mounting the weavers but they work fine. the talleys without the curved receiver top like the rem 700 they dont want to find their own perfect(or imperfect) place to clamp on so i put them snug, clamped the scope on and then took it off and tightened the talleys down. not that they didnt twist out again and i dont lap but it made me feel better anyway. im guessing the tikka rings will fit nicer but with my talley tight down it seems fine
