What scope for lever 308

I just bought a BLR 308 and looking for ideas on the best scope to put on it. I will be hunting in bush and some open country.

a nice 2x7 leup or a 4x fixed. light and mounts low.

I think the VX3 (Or VX-III if you can find one) 1.5-5 with a German #4 reticle would be absolutely ideal, or a 2-7X33 if you prefer something a little bigger.

I had a Nikon Monarch 1.5-6 x 42 on my 358.
Nice chunky size that suited the rifle proportions. solid as hell too.

What distance?200 there are only two I would consider Nightforce 1-4x24 200yards or 2.5-10x32 300 yards. you will be pleased with both. FOV in the 1-4 is 100ft.
