What scope/mount would work with a Swiss M31?

I'm purchasing a M31 in November and am wondering whether or not to scope it. I hope to do some long range shooting (500 yards or so) and am wondering what a good scope for that range would be for this rifle? also if an mounts would work for it without having to constantly be zeroed in.

Swiss Products Clamp-on scope mount will do fine.

I've been very happy with the Bushnell 3200 10x32 Tactical scope.
Just be aware is has parallax issues under 100yds, Pass that it is ok for the money.

Not as sharp as my S&B 12x on the SSG PII, but a lot more affordable.

What do you foresee doing with it?
Just target shooting or anything else?
 
As far as I can forsee, I will be doing some medium distance target shooting. And some hunting of medium size game such as deer, would this fare well with taking one down? I would definitely buy the scope, no problem with 100 yard shots as If I was shooting that I'd use iron sights. I am very interested in the ammo cost, do you reload?
 
Small power Tactical 10x would be ideal for med range target work but you would be better off with something in the 2-7X or 3-9x for hunting.
I like Fixed powers, 4x,6x, 8x 10, 12x but hard to find them on the used market. Sharper than variables. Less things to go wrong.
My 4x32 Zeiss Diatyl is my favorite for hunting.
Nikon 2-7x32 is pretty good for the money

Once you get the reloading setup it can be quite inexpensive to shoot.

But the stock irons are so much fun....I have no prob ringing a 10" gong at 400yds with mine. :)
But steel isn't a deer.....

Are their any clamp on mounts where the scope is centered on the bore?
I reload for mine 100 brass put me back $100 with shipping from tradex. Shooting 168gr smk.
 
Sight in at a greater distance. That point becomes the windage pivot of your bullet flight.
Scope offset with the Swiss Products Clamp-on mount is 0.75"± to the right.

If sighted in at 200yds, if there is no wind, your impact should be 0.75" to the left of your aimpoint at 400yds, twice your sight in distance.
I doubt any ammo you shoot will be that good that you will be able to tell the difference in a k31 or any other service rifle. If rifle and ammo are capable of 1 moa, that is a 4 inch group at 400yds

No way you will see this difference.

Conversely, Sighting in at 50yds and you will get an additional 0.75" deviation for every multiple of the 50yds sight-in distance.

I've got a sixty-year-old Weaver K4 on MY K31. Remember that you'll need 11mm base rings - like a rimfire or air rifle. Good rings are a must, and I've got Warne on all of my more modern scoped rifles and carbines.

Yes we sell one that comes from Switzerland. http://theshootingcentre.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/P6260074.jpg They are pricey though at $325 and they replace the rear sight.
