Hey guys, just wanting to get some ideas for a scope for my tavor. I had a EOtech on there but wanted something with some magnification. Im looking at a couple of used bushnell 3200s (matte black) but im worried that might look funny. I would like something with adjustable zoom and im want to stay within $200-$300 to my door...used or new. Also the ones im looking at have a DOA reticule, which im thinking may not work properly for .223?

Anyway i welcome your comments on what i should get...thanks!

You won't want the DOA reticle. In your price ranger you could grab a nice Millet DMS 1-4x great optic for the money with a 30mm tube and simple to use reticle. 4x is about as much as you will need

no it wont look funny...in fact it looks good
just use a quick detach mount
A 1-4 scope would be very good if you didn't have an expensive eotech already
+ I prefere the look of my eotech on my tavor
so at 300 yards i use a 3-9x scope...it looks awesome because the scope is the same length as the rail(scope looks perfect no over or under hang) + its 9 power

What is wrong with the irons? They cost you nothing, hold zero better then a scope does, keep the gun lighter weight and teach you how to properly shoot!!!

Well, seeing as how the newest version of the Tavor has BUIS built into the rail & are rudimentary at best... I can attest to why the OP wants a scope!

Because my Tavor is a hunting gun, I chose a Elite 6500 1.25-8x32 and used a ARMS 35QD mount with ARMS 35M rings. Works great!

Cheers

The 6500 Jay is talking is great and another that i discover lately and is full quality is the Hilux 1X4 30mm tube with calculator and illuminated... JP.

1) You spent around $3000 on the rifle. Drop the ide of $300 optics and get something actually good. No, a 3200 series scope does NOT fir that bill. If buying used Bushnell don't go below as 4200 series, preferably 6500 or Elite Tactical.
2) DOA reticle sucks. Get a mil-dot reticle or a BTR reticle from the Bushnell offerings. The BTR reticle is better because the cross-hairs have the middle cropped out and just have a circle with a 0.25 MOA aiming dot so the target won't be obscured at longer ranges.
3) Consider not getting anything over a 1-4 or alternately go with a reflex sight from Trijicon or Elcan. Your plan will end up with optics almost as long as the rifle and it will look and balance in a non-ideal way.
4) If you have to go cheap, look at the Vortex Viper PST 1-4. SFRC sells them, clear optics, illuminated reticle, adjustable target turrets and unbeatable warranty which you may actually need on any scope under $600.

My tavor isn't accurate enough to justify a scope. It's a 3-4 moa rifle so I put a red dot on it instead. Maybe it's just my rifle...

I went with an eotech+magnifyer.

I agree! :D

I need to stop going to bed so early. I keep missing out on good threads like this one!

Other people have covered this already, but yes I would agree that the Tavor is primarily a optics kind of rifle. The problem with Irons, whether their integral buis or Troys, is that you have a pretty short sight radius. There isn't a ton of rail space there, even with a flattop.

I've tried a lot of optics on my Tavor, and the Razor is definitely what I've been looking for.

+1 That's what I have on mine from SFRC and love it, works well and the optics are good and warranty is exceptional.
