what scope should I get?

I'm having a rifle built and i'm having a hard time deciding on what scope I should pick up. ATRS is doing the build for me. Its a Mcmillin M40A1 Stock w/ intergal cheek piece, 26" rock creek barrel, with a rem700 action, ATRS bottom metal and a timney trigger. chambered in a 300wm. What's worthy of this rifle? I want something like 5-20 x50. Im stuck between a S&B, NIGHTFORCE, VORTEX RAZOR or even a Leopuld m4. I'd really like a S&B. Are they that much better then everything else. worth the extra $$$$? Any opinions or advice would be great. pros and cons between these brands.

Here is my thinking, if you are going to look at the best there is in scopes, I'd be looking at Jewel trigger as well over a Timney. FS
 
It depends on what you are looking at getting. S&B are FFP unless you custom order. Also S&B is coming out with a 3-20 sometime next year i think. Another to look at is Premier Heritage, they offer 3-15 and 5-25. If you want FFP, nightforce only offers 3-15. Vortex has a really good warranty from what i read from others problems. I personally own a leupold 8.5-25 ER/T M5, i got it for around $1800. Its is a great scope but i would not feel comfortable putting it through what i would put a premier or S&B through, rough handling wise. I purchase the leupold because i cannot afford the S&B or premier that would cost double what i paid. If i could afford the S&B or premier i would definitely purchase one. I am already considering them a next year purchase. Vortex Canada website has the Razor up for 2800 MSRP, me personally, that is a little high for an unproven optic comparing to the premier and S&B that would approximately be another $500-700. But on another note, the guys a SnipersHide put some tannerite beside the scope and it came out perfectly fine http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1385904. But at that price range, what would another $500 be. When i purchased my leupold, i was between that and the nightforce. I wanted high mag FFP and leupold was the only one offering in the price i wanted to pay. If Nightforce had the 5.5-22 in FFP at 2000-2200, i would have went with that.

I've got a new Vortex Razor HD 5-20X50 coming and the real street price $2200. Take a look at any of their on line dealers. I did a lot of research before I ordered this scope and it is exactly what I want. I can't wait for it to get here!
 
Of the scopes you listed the S+B would be my hands down choice - I own S+B and NF. I would not buy the Vortex, have insufficient experience to comment on Premier and March,would pass on Leupold but if money became tight would buy a Sightron Siii 8-32x56 LRMOA.

Sounds like a great build you have coming along there!
