I can't decide between the Savage Axis, the Stevens 200, or maybe a Marlin XLR. I hear these things can really shoot and I don't want to spend a lot of money. I will mostly be shooting paper out to 1000 yards. *EDIT* I forgot to mention the Remington 710 and the Mossberg Sniper rifle.

I'm offended you haven't mentioned a Remington 710 in your list. I would appreciate it if you would ammend your post to include it. While your at it, you better put the Mossberg Night Train in there as well.

I just bought a Stevens 200 with quick change rings and a redfield scope in .223, I took it down to some crown land for so long range shooting and some varmint hunting...we found a spot that had a clear field of view up to 631 feet (measured). My friend has a ruger target gun, it's a beauty and it was a fourtune.. My Stevens was cheap and I was hitting a target the size of a human head at will....I was blown away by the accuracy of the rifle....it is a cheaper gun that can shoot with the big boys and it made me apprisciate .223.

Good luck and happy hunting

You were blown away by hitting an approximate 12" target at 210 yards? Yup, that there is benchrest accuracy! Laugh2

I've got a real sweet Cooey .22 bolt action that may be for sale soon. For long distance I like to pull the bullet, double the charge and re-seat to a .010 jam. I'm having amazing results out to 1200 or so. The only problem is since I JB welded the rail in place I've run out adjustment. A rolled up match book under the rear ring has taken care of that.

It's a wicked awesome rig, and very easy on the shoulder. Esthetically it wasn't all it could be, so I've painted a flaming soccerball on the stock.

I'll be asking $3800 in the EE, but I'll throw in the paint brush.

Hmmmmm, a Cooey you say. Interesting. My grandpa told me stories of shooting pigeons off the barn at over 300 feet. Sounds accurate. Maybe I can put a Barska 6-24 on it and make head shots on a target at 500 feet.

Sounds to me like the NEF HandiRifle is what your looking for! Nice compact sniper rig!

Please refrain from using "sniper rifle". When speaking of my Cooey I prefer precision/tactical as it clearly is. If I were a sniper, then yes, my Cooey with flaming soccerball would be a sniper rifle.

9x19p a Cooey with a flaming soccer ball? Must be a real shooter. Some pics would be nice. Haha

It's pretty sweet and the chicks dig it, but I'm shy about posting pics of my kit online. You know, being monitored by our government and all, I just don't want to give them a reason for confiscation.

Ok, I had some time on my hands :) so I called my legal team and was given the go for a pic.

Here it is, my Wicked Awesome Flaming Soccerball Precision Tactical Cooey .22, or WAFSPTC22
