What should I do?

So I have a husky 1600 in 8x57mm. I measured the OAL and the bullet fell out? WTF, it was almost a 1/16” out of the case… Holly crap!?

Should I do here....

Yes, bought some Sierra 8mm 170 gr bullets, set it up to get the OAL and the bullet is out of the case neck by a 1/16"? The rifling or throat is cut so far forward the bullet seats out of the neck? I tried a 214 gr bullet and it does the same? Wow.

Hers' a pict of the rifle

I put a 8x56mm Pecar scope on it with Zrak rings, the ones pictured are fixed norma rings.

So you have some free-bore.......just load it and shoot it, it is a hunting rifle not a target rifle.
But first change that 8x56 to a 4 or 6x as it is way too large for such a dainty rifle.....and a very nice rifle it is , by the way.

Ps, would you do me a favour and post a couple of pic's of the bolt and the open action.

8X63 hands down
if the bore is in good enough shape go for it
the one I built for Russ is a tack driver (almost)
All we need is primers to take that variable out of the load
and I think this will be one hell of a cartridge

8mm

Think young Claven2 went through this recently. Rechambered to 8X63. Havent heard how it shoots or if he thinks was worth it in the end. Maybe drop him a line over at milsurps.com.
Cheers
Geoff
