Theres an old guy that works with my brother in law and mentioned he had a made in Canada model 60 Cooey that he wanted to get rid of/sell. He was asking $150 for it, theres currently nothing on the EE to compare and I only found one older thread here with a couple of ball park prices listed for around $100. From the pictures it looks in pretty good shape for the age but I haven't seen it in person or looked down the bore. It would be cool to have a bolt .22 since I don't have one but im not interested unless im getting a deal on it, problem is im not quite sure what a deal would be. Any ideas on price? Thanks!

Looks like a late model, if that is a serial number. If bore is good I would pay that.

Think it's a sticker sn? The stock looks odd... Is it 2 pieces of wood, connected at the pistol grip? I haven't looked at the book lately but think the barrel is from the 40's. Hard to say about a price not knowing about the stock

^^^ beat me to it! Lol

Hmm if the stock isn't the factory one would it make it worth less? Ill have to ask if he ever swapped it out. The sn almost looks like the bluing was cleaned off and then the serial number was put on there somehow, doesn't really look like a sticker.

If the stock has been repaired, I would say its worth, less. I was thinking the sn was from the days we had to have a sn on all firearms, and were given stickers if the was no sn (before my shooting days)

That is a sticker from the previous gun registry. My model 60, similar to this one did not have a serial number and was required to have one of these stickers. I say similar as the stock on my rifle looks nothing like the one pictured.

its about 149 to much, just a personal preference,i like the 39,64,840..etc anything but the 60 i had one blow up in my hands using new cci stingers, any other cooey is great but the sliding tube mag is the major flaw with this one

They only sold about a million of them and many are still going today with no problem. You can't judge a gun as "flawed" just because you had trouble. It's also not the only gun that used a sliding tube. There are also many that claim hypervelocity ammo should not be shot in these old guns.

The OP's gun is made by Cooey before Winchester took over and that sticker, as mentioned, is a registration sticker, not an original serial number. Value at $150.00 is on the high side.

Thanks for all the input everyone, my brother in law has been interested in getting his PAL and a .22 so he thought it might have been a good deal. Im thinking he will be happier paying a little more for a modern bolt .22, I told him to just got get the PAL first as theres lots of .22s for sale all the time.

I'm a fan of 60's. Hunted with one since a boy. Never had a problem with CCI hp. No problems with the tube mag.
I bought one in September for $110. Slightly better metal, but cracked stock nicely repaired with epoxy and brass screw. Shoots very nicely.

The only Model 60 I ever bought was less then $30 brand new off the rack in the drugstore. I have a hard time paying what they sell for now a days. Also a 39 was $8 with a box of shells throwen in.
