Hmmm....I just googled.....this might be the case where the gun is not worth the sum of it's parts.

Barrel bands: 25-30 US ea on ebay
Bayonet: 65-90 US
Hammer: 85-102 US.......might end up selling this one a bit at a time

I have to concur with JP. 3rd Mod P53 Enfield Rifle-musket.

As my moniker suggests, i have always loved these Enfield Rifles, and it saddens me to see it broken up.

Whether or not it was a Government marked rifle, or for private, or volunteer use, would have little bearing on its price now it has been so "bubbered".

One has to be realistic however, and admit it may well be worth more for
parts.

I would like to buy it, but not for the sum of its parts!

I wish it, and you well, with whatever you decide....................... P53.
