What size shotgun shell for Clays what about choke?

I kinda like switching things up a bit. I have the IC, mod and full chokes and try all of them. It gets a little frustrating with the full:redface: ,but makes you really focus. I also try throwing a couple #1 shots or BBs in the mix:eek: . But I don't go to a club, just out in the field. It has actually helped alot with the ducks and geese!

When you get a little better at it, you'll find it more fun to "choke for smoke" as they say.
I've never heard that saying but it's true. Taking a shot and leaving only a cloud of dust is sweet!

I find I do best now with a full choke.

I recently tryed shooting some clay targets with my new benelli nova:

I can hit 70-80% I guess, hopefully that will improve. Im going to get my brother to throw them from the side a bit. Great thing with the snow is you can go get the ones you missed.

I need more ammo, was up at wholesale sports on monday, but they only had winchester aa's, but a boatload of rem 20gage target loads(are they silly?) Didn't mater, there was no more clay targets either.

When I shoot trap I use an 1100 Trap..30 inch barrel full choke..I have been doing very well with it since I got it 2 years ago. Taking her out on Boxing day to have some fun and hopefully win some prizes.....I use 7 1/2' federals that you can get in the bulk 4 packs (100rnds)...If I really want to turn heads I bust out my 870 with an I/C choke and a 21in barrel :D
