What sling are you using on your M14?

Turner AWS 1907 sling for the range and USGI cotton web for the bush. Both will sling up nice and tight.

The sling that came with my poly is a horrible color of green and with the metal quick release buckles I didnt like all the noise the sling and the front swivel was making ....so I switched it for a black nylon sling with plastic buckles....I didnt put the metal quick release attachment back on .
To make the front swivel quiet I took two round toothpicks and broke off about a half inch piece form the two toothpicks off the pointed ends.
I then slid them between the swivel plate and the swivel from each side....I poked them further in with a small allen key.....cant be seen and now my new poly is ready for the bush ....as i can shake the rifle and no more rattling noises..yahoo

I use a standard SKS sling. The light OD colour looks better with my camo paint job. They are good, durable slings and work pefectly with the M305.

Cheap GI issue one that came with it. I only use it to sling it if I have to carry something.
Me too. The price was right and I usually carry rather than sling.

I quieted mine the USMC way; with black electrical tape around all the parts that move/rattle. Sure it's redneck, but also cheap and effective, after all this is $400 tool, not a show piece.

"...the noise the sling and the front swivel..." Tape it. Green or black duct tape.
My Winchester M14 came with an issue leather sling. Too stiff. A canvas M1 Rifle sling works well.

How do you guys with the leather slings get the metal part through the loop on the buttstock?
I just received one from Springfield (The Leather Match for their M1A), and the metal "frog" is too big to fit through the metal sling loop in the butt. So disappointed.

Any ideas or workarounds? Or is this leather sling just going up on the EE?

You should have bought a Turner. Damn good sling!
