Looking for advice on what brand of spray paint you guys reccomend for re-painting steel targets?

I have been using rustolem, but it seems to need a number of coats to get the target a solid tone. I was thinking of trying a primer/paint combo next but thought I would ask.

Trying to keep expenses down, I've tried some cheap stuff...covers steel like crap. Now all I buy is tremclad and it works well. I'd be interested though if anyone has found a cheap brand that covers well.

Same experience here. Cheap cans take more to cover and often fail early. (and I've tried a bunch)
Tremclad covers well and you get to use the whole can without clogged nozzles and clogged cans.
Damn, again - you get what you pay for. f:P:2: Go figure. :d

I buy Krylon when it goes on sale at CanadianTire. I don't care for the even coat 'cause it gets shot up by the end of the range session anyway. Don't have to look pretty and even coated to me.

I noticed Krylon has a Dual paint which primes and paint at the same time. Cost a buck more but might be thick enough to give you a one coat deal? I'll give it a try when it goes on sale.

I bought some "high build" paint I think is what it was called I think it was made by duplicolor seemed to work alright for me to shoot at it.

Tree marking paint used by loggers covers in 1 thick coat and dries in 2 minutes. Any industrial store should carry it, Can be applied even to a wet surface.
