hi just wondering what still of training is this ? i like the timer idea . is there a training course for this ? I'm in vancouver .

Hmm. Was it Jamie who posted a video of doing time trials like this?

It seems popular with the internet video crowd, though perhaps maybe not as full-out as The Monkey goes.

It could apply to pretty much any style/discipline, from Cowboy Action Shooting to IDPA or IPSC.

Here's the video,

The "search and assess" stuff in these videos always gives me a chuckle. You're at the range. Its still the same as it was 2 seconds before you started your drill ;)

NOT AT ALL TRUE - you never know what that instructor is doing behind you!!

PS - he may ask!

The correct answer to the OP's question is - looks like the fun kind of training.

Let me guess, you've never taken any training and view your firearms as "toys" or a "collection" rather than defensive/offensive tools as they are/were designed to be.

I knew MSM was a smaller guy, but those giants make him look like Tyrion Lanister.

I know it looks funny, but training and taking courses is about developing strong good habits so I understand why they do it.

Cause you know, ALL students who take these courses don't need to practice SITUATIONAL AWARENESS at all 'cause you know they don't need it for work or live in a carry State.

I understand the searching around part, good habits and all that. Same reason we still don't point empty guns at people.

What I don't get is dressing up like a SEAL ninja complete with armor plates when your day job probably involves pushing a pencil or turning a wrench. Can anyone please explain this for me?

A good pair of heavy duty pants and a vest to hold mags is essential or a good belt with mag pouches, cause you will be going down on your knees (cant do that in your seven for all mankind jeans) and you need a place to store 6+ mags, but I wouldnt be wearing armor plates, helmets just because for an 8 hour day course thats annoying, but to each their own I don't really care what others wear.
But yes you could just wear a good pair of cordura pants with a duty belt that holds your ar mags and your pistol mags and your holster, but teats heavy on the hips and it'll cause you back pain later during the day.

It's called a hobby, just like every restricted firearm out there.
