Im not asking about why a custom barrel is best , ect ... ect...

When it comes to factory .338 LM rifles, Witch Factory gun has the higher quality barrel on it ?

The Remington 700 MLR or the Savage 110 BA ?

* note * .338 cal and Factory barrel *note*

That's going to be a subjective unproductive comparison. The Rem 700 MLR is not historicly great but the 700P is longer wearing. I like the brake more on my 110BA, not that my 700P has a "bad" brake. I would say the savage is better bang for the buck. My $.02 anyway.

I would take 110BA as a target/tacticool rifle that works well and shoots well for the price point. The stock is good, as is the trigger. And for the price over the remmy that is a good value. If you ever plan to take game with it the remmy wins hands down. Its lighter, easier handling, and more sporting weight.

I don't know if either will be a "better" more accurate rifle. Both will produce great results for the price range.

All factory barrels are a crap shoot. All of them would horrify you if you looked through a bore scope to compare.

If you are looking at a gun that shoots ammo worth 5-8 bucks a pop, why would you NOT put a good quality barrel on it and let the form and ergonomics of the rest of the gun help you decide?
