What the heck is in my birds

Throwing it away is a total waste! If those stats are correct and roughly 21% have worms, we have ALL eaten wormy birds!!! AND they specifically say that it doesn't affect the edibility of the birds...

EAT THE BIRDS!!! If you don't, you can rest assured that you can always get in line at the grocery store and admit to yourself that you have joined the rest of "urban" types who don't associate wrapped meat with a living animal...

EAT THE BIRDS!!!

Cheers
Jay

serve it to the inlaws

That's the best.

Called the MNR Monday, yup they explained all is good, don't worry about them, and of course end the conversation with "eat wild meat at your own risk".

Not worried now, just never saw them before. Thanks for all the help guys!

Still disgusting, I don't think I could get pass that and eat the bird. I never seen that even if it seems "common". Same with bass and worms in the meat, the biologists says no problems for men to eat them when cooked but I still can't eat them, it stays in the back of my mind no matter what. :runaway: :puke:.

as soon as I shoot grouse I stand on the wings and pull on the legs etc and leave the guts for the scavengers (never seem to stay very long). I've never seen worms in grouse in 25 years of hunting but I guess with my cleaning technique I don't get a chance to see them. Must look closer next time
