What the most accurate 5.56/223 ammo

Are you looking for factory?

I am not a big purchaser of premium 223/556 but I did have good luck with hornady steel match I bought because it was cheap.

try a bunch of different brands - what i would do is clean the barrel try a brand then before you go onto the next brand clean the barrel again so you get a truer picture of what your rifle likes -

Reloads are generally the best because they are tailored to a specific rifle, Factory loads you would be looking for ammunition labeled "match" but even then different brands will shoot better or worse you need to try out different ones to find the one your rifle likes to eat because different grain bullets different powders different primers will all give a different result.

For factory ammo buy a box of a few different brands of match grade ammo and give them a try its really the only way to find which one your rifle will like to eat the best, Or get into reloading and go that route. I would say more champion shooters use reloaded ammo over factory

This..my friend AR was shooting with .5 - .7 and some time .4 group with Federal American Eagle .55 grains.
Nothing in all the brand he tried could match that load. BUT he ended up with one case of 1000 that produced 1 inches group only...

My reloaded ammo - love 52 SMK..wisdom will say it’s not a weight for a 1-7 barrel but this is a consistent .5 group load.

Try different factory weight and brand -you might find a gem in those. Myself I shoot only reload..
