Hi knowledgeable GNZs,

I have a new savage small bore which I lost a screw on the scope base.

I believe all new firearms use standard thread for weaver base, and I can get screws from my mechanic friend.

If it's a normal machine parts I can just bring it to my friend - however I can't bring a rifle to the shop.

Does anybody know the thread size?

Thanks in advance!

Scope mounting screws for the majority of firearms are 6 x 48... a National Special thread size... some mechanics may tell you there is no such size... it is very common and most gun stores can supply one.

The Traditions Muzzle Loaders imported from Spain use a Metric screw.
6-48's will fall in the hole. (They will usually have a "M" with the designation.
