What to build in mag bolt face Ruger

Why do you think you'll use a .338-375 more than a .338 Win Mag? I'm a fan of the .375 Ruger but .338 Win Mag brass are easier to locate. If your going to go the Ruger route l'd say go with the original, the .375 Ruger.

I'm leaning heavily towards the 338-375 Ruger, it's would be the cheapest conversion and there is a small hole in my collection for a .338. Any one know if there's a Smith in Canada that has the reamer?

24 hr campfire has lots of info on this cartridge. Simple conversion and a great use of a 338WM.

What does the 338-375 Ruger have to offer over the std 338Mag?

200-300 fps and it's different, but really there isn't much that can be done with the Ruger that can't be done with the std mag.

Sounds like you have a bit of everything there, esp larger magnums. I'd sell it and buy a 257Roberts.

HAHA I have a rifle chambered in almost every caliber and they all tend to be on the bigger side, the gap between my 300 WSM and 358 STA doesn't really need to be filled but I do have the rifle and rechambering is pretty easy, if I can find a reamer in Canada that is.

I have a tack hammer and a sledgehammer. The sledge gets more use.

If it was me I would go 9.3 Ruger, but given that the OP has a 358STA then either the original 375 Gatehouse or a simple rechamber to 338 Ruger would be fun.

I still think the .358 Ruger would be better. I know you already have the STA but this rifle is of superior design being a Ruger and if you had it barreled with like a 22in tube, it would be such a handy, fast-pointing. 35 Hammer compared to the minute 338. And besides,.338s all want to be. 358s deep down inside. Heck, just the cool factor alone!

They will not take H&H length cases, I have one in 458 win mag but it's not long enough for the Lott.

375H&H necked down to 35cal. Very cool olde wildcat it is.

I'm starting to like the easy and inexpensive conversion to 338-375 Ruger but it's only going to be easy and inexpensive if I can find somebody with a reamer in Canada, it's a pretty popular conversion in the states.
