If restricted doesn't matter, then there are lots of AR's that come up on the EE in your range. If you want to actually shoot the thing in the bush, then the VZ58 series is the way to go. Pick up a nice rifle and have money left over for ammo.

you cant go wrong with daniel defense, and thats a very good price

why buy a vz58 when you can own a dd ar15! the choice is pretty damn obvious to me!

To add my two cents—I think that an AR is the best bang for your buck. Daniel Defense for sure is a good manufacturer, but there are many others that are also as good. $1500 can get you a pretty sweet AR.

Hmm. So is norinco good or bad? Was peaking a little bit the t97 if I decided to go the non restricted route.
