Hello
I would like to ask for advise ,which model is better or more reliable, still cannot decide which one to buy as my first 9mm pistol.

Thank you!

I have both. The M&P is somewhat more comfortable in my hand and the trigger slightly better. Both are 100 reliable.

I shoot the M&P, which handles lead bullets better and does not mangle the brass.

I sold my G17 Gen 3 and picked up the M&P .40 and I like the M&P much better...I ordered the Storm Lake 9mm barrel to go with it and will be looking seriously at the M&P .45 very soon.

You should really try to shoot both if you haven't already. Or at least hold them. I owned a Glock before I ever owned an M&P and as soon as I held/fired an M&P I knew I wanted one. Still like Glocks, but the M&Ps feel better in the hand and have a better trigger out of the box IMO. As for reliability, your probably won't see much difference between the two, they are both workhorses.

I owned a couple of Glocks over the years, but always sold them because of the horrible ergos - then the M&P came along, massive improvement. Apparently Glock noticed too and released the Gen 4. If I was buying today I'd have a very tough time, but because I reload with lead bullets, I'd probably go with the M&P, it just wouldn't be as clear cut a win.

I've got an MP 9 and I like it a lot (not as much as my 1911 but thats a debate for a different thread ;)) Never shot a Glock however so I can't speak to its qualities but i've held a few in gun stores and just like the M&P better IMO

Also never had an issue with my M&P but to be fair i've only run about 1000 rounds through it.

I have both and prefer the M&P. It fits my hand better and is more comfortable. Never had a failure in either gun. Handle them both and see what fits your hand the best.

I had the mp45 for a while and it is a nice gun. Make sure you get one without the mag disconnect if you choose one. My issue was that they designed it so that when you put a mag in the slide closes. This happens 19 out of 20 times. I found that caused bad habbits and switched to a glock and haven't looked back.

I'm in the exact same dilema and think I'm going towards the G17 just because of the grip length let's me get my chubby mitts on it a little better, the m&p is just a little slimmer. But there's no telling what ill do untill I walk out... One day I went to buy some 308 bullets and left with a 1911... Messed up stuff happens when you don't leave the bank card at home
