Another option is get the 22LR and when you want more range just use the CCI Stinger's also keep in mind that CCI told me when I emailed them that they should be used in a Bolt action and not in a Semi as the Semi's can not alway's handle the extra kick back of the Stinger.If you don't think the Stinger's would be enough for the bigger game you want to shoot I would still get a 22LR and if you are not going to hunt the larger game that often just get a well taken care of Rifle that is second hand.

you want at least a 243 for yotes- they won't let you get close enuogh with a 22-even with CALLING

22LR simply for cost and availability of ammo.
I've never been to a place that didn't have LR in stock.
