Yesterday I got a Model 70 rifle in the mail from the EE and the other member has good ratings. Once I got the gun looked over I found the three position safety doesn't lock the bolt handle down. Upon further inspection the bolt body behind the bolt handle is damaged where the locking pin is supposed to contact it. I mentioned this to the seller who shall remain nameless for now and he said the gun only has 40 rounds thru it and there were no problems cause its brand new. I am asking him to take the gun back or go good for the bolt repair or replacement. Does this sound fair to you guys? Or is there a better way to deal with this?

You've done the correct course of actions - ask for refund or pony up for the repairs. If the seller doesnt do either, the only thing you can do is leave negative feedback

I've just experience something similar, Ive return the gun for repair to the seller. I've agreed to wait for the refund until the gunsmith looks at it. Seller has been very good
to deal with....in your case if the seller doesn't come clean then negative feedback is in order

One of my lastest deals was crap.
I let the seller know and he wouldn't refund.
I asked for a partial payment back.
No, then maybe.
Then I said to meself..........self........fruckkit.
He won this battle, won't be no mo.
In your case, full refund or make it right.

I'm not about to get me arse rebutted for another fruck on this site on a
gun that didn't add up to it's description.

I let it hang and there was no, "Hayya Looky, what's up?"

We're hopefully working it out now, I'm just waiting to see what he says. I like the gun, just not the damage it came with.

what a surprise it happened to me with a winchester 70. a tour to the local gunsmith fixed and the seller paid the small bill.

good communication is the base.

hope it will work good for you.

Sadly , that is the risk of buying sight unseen from a private seller....it is not for the faint of heart , far to risky for me . Hopefully the seller will help you out , if not , there is not much you can do as the seller already has your money ; ........Good Luck...
