Since there is a ban on pistol sales, and same goes for black rifles, what are we supposed to do with them if we are moving to another country permanently?

I think you can still apply for a long term storage permit with another person who has the appropriate class of licence?
Otherwise, if you are leaving Canada and not coming back, you may be SOL. It may be a turn-them-in scenario.
If you have any thought of returning to Canada eventually, maybe look not the LTS option.

Just another thought - if you are moving to the US, you may be Abel to have IRG export them to the US for you, if the firearms originally came form the US?

If all described above fails, strip them down to non-prohibited components and sell them.

You leaving doesn't mean your PAL is invalidated
You can store them either with a friend or a business if you want to leave them here - for eventual sale if/when the freeze is lifted
You can sell them to a business either for use here or for export
You can even 'fake sell' to a business - they will be out of your name and the business will still store them for you under contract for eventual resale.
You can take them with you or a business as above may be able to send them to you later when you settle in and get licenses in place, depending on the country (for USA it's best to take them with you as you move not later)
You can consign them to an auctions (Kidd Family Auctions run a handgun sale regularly for foreign buyers who take care of exporting on their own dime)
You can strip for part, sell the parts, surrender the frames
And, yes, you can surrender, but given all the option above I don't see why you woud.

Depending upon your destination, you may be able to obtain the permits necessary to take them with you.

If you cannot take them with you, and you wish to convert them to cash, many licensed dealers are willing to buy them outright, either for deactivation (and re-sale), stripping for parts (and re-sale), rental (at a licensed range), export, or re-sale to an exempted individual.

Take them with you .
depending what country you are moving to.
Just because they are "banned" in canada for sale and import does not mean they can not be exported through proper channels. Other gunnuts have done this since the bans and are already enjoying the freedom

Have IRG import them into America and I am assuming that is where the OP is going.
Or give them to a friend for safe keeping with the appropriate lic of course.
Moving to the USA means moving to the largest gun loving country in the world ...
A co-worker is retiring in the next 20 months and moving to the Eastern Seaboard he might even be neighbors with Hickok45 for that matter.
His new wife (American) is all for it as she likes guns too...he sold or transferred his guns to his sons before the Ban Hammer came down and is not looking back.

Thanks for all the replies, unfortunately it doesn't seem like US will be the destination. Looking to migrate to Turkey, Singapore, Malaysia or Thailand, somewhere where the whether is nice and living standards are better than here :D I am getting owned by taxes and tired of living month-by-month.

Thanks for sharing all these options. I plan to leave in 1.5-2 years, maybe by then the freeze is lifted and I can sell them. Else, I will consider leaving them with a shop, selling them for parts, auction, or leaving them with a trusted person.

Wolverine supplies does long term storage at a certain fee for Individuals leaving the country/ deployment etc. They are also a licensed retailer/importer so if it came to it, they could consignment it at a later time if you needed
