I had some 75gr amax that didn't shoot well (~2") in may 1:9 AR-15. So rather than throw them away, or keep them around untill one day I get a bolt in .223 I tried something a little different. I pulled the polymer tip and found I can load to magazine COL and not compress the load with 23.0gr of H4895. They make for wicked looking HP's now... Second photo is a take on something I saw on Military Channel, in WWI some of the British? troops pulled the spitzer bullets from the cartridges and re-inserted them backwards so when they struck the metal armour used in trenches they would create more of a spalling effect and injury the enemy from flack. What do you all think. I'm not looking for accuracy here just something to plink with.
