Hi guy the title says it all. I'm sure this question has been asked many times before, but I thought of doing something with the piece. What are some calibers that can be used? I was thinking big lead, low velocity type of thing. I had seen one made into a .45colt (I think that is the rimmed one) thanks.

i have seen some nice 45-70 conversion,s. and the gibb,s rifle company converts them to this cal. plus sells the proper mags for this applcation.

Faced with the same problem I had a take-off P14 barrel rethreaded and the chamber cleaned up. It shoots.
Cheers, Sammy

Have you looked at the Marstar web site? They used to have lots of Lee Enfield parts, barrels included. If the action is tight, you may just wish to go with a re-barrel job. I think it would be cheaper than a full re-bore to a different calibre, and there would be no other parts needed to make it operational again. If the headspace wasn't ok with the new tube, then it would just be a matter of getting the right bolt face.

N0 4 barrels

I did check out marstar and the are out of barrels. 45acp was the caliber I was thinking of, not 45colt. .45-70 would be a fun caliber to do (ie gibbs summit carbine). Still looking for barrels.

I recently sold one to another CGNer who told me that he was buying a kit to convert it to 7.62x39 SKS. I checked the kit out online looks pretty good. It would be a real cheap shooter!
