What to do with all the AR uppers

So the question begs to be asked....

And not looking to create a sky is falling politico thread here.


IF the unfortunate outcome of our political situation results in a severe limitation and or ban/confiscation/buyback of our AR lowers.

There will be an abundance of AR uppers and or parts looking to contribute to society in a meaningful way
I wonder if the industry....or what will be left of it....is considering producing a platform that could host an AR upper in a single shot or repeater format?

A lot of us have DMR style ARs and their uppers or certainly barrels would make ideal compact varmint/target rifles in either single shot or repeater format.
Ideally a platform that accepts the entire AR upper sans semi auto capability.
Im sure this makes the horse police cringe...as well their lefty overlords....but this idea is NOT about skirting the law OR loopholing semi auto ARs but to make legitimate use of tens of thousands of our private property useful/valuable in the event it is rendered politically/legally otherwise.

Will it be a simple as removing the gas system and carry on?
Should be but certainly won't be that easy


Again....NOT looking to stir the pot on illegal loopholing or other crackpot schemes.....I'm sure Im not alone in looking thru the keyhole at the future and planning to make the best of things...as I have been doing for nearly 60yrs of lawful responsible firearms ownership/use....personally and professionally.

I’m wondering the same thing. I have about $3500 into my precision rig and I’m sure they’ll give me about $500 for. Besides challenging the revocation of my registration certs I’m wondering the same as you.

If the Turd gets in, won't you just have to give them {back} up anyway? Aren't they 'promising' to Buy them back or confiscate? If they pay $1000 for a full rifle, what are they 'paying' for just a lower? You thinking Profits? lol

As many are thinking, after my judicial review anything that is confiscated will be damaged. I will not turn in a photo op as others have mentioned. I do note care about compensation. My guess is there would be a window to be compensated that way they would try and limit tying up the courts.

Why would they allow us to re-register our AR's as lowers only? They want the complete guns and they want the photo-ops. They'll have a printer/computer "malfunction" and be unable to process/approve any re-registrations.

Hopefully someone comes up with a rifle we can buy and fit all our #### to.

Isn't a lower that mates with an AR upper, or an upper that mates with an AR lower, considered an AR variant?

Hoping to zero in on the target of adopting AR barrels and or upper componentry into a non restricted/banned whatever classification to make good use of the hard parts in our increasing/neverending struggle ???

Any current platforms?
Proposed or feasible options?

The Troy PAR concept??
I wont nec care if the platform retains a pistolgrip.....a seemingly wholy evil device in of itself?????
Frankly a conventional stock/trigger mechanism employing an AR upper receiver/barrel would be ideal.
I would prefer manually cycling the straight pull charging handle for each shot vs the Troy pump action.

Im envisioning a a conventional butt with an AR upper nestled in it and an ergo friendly straight or side pull charging handle action.
Some of the ARs most endearing qualities to me are the integral pic rail, lightweight ally receiver, user friendly/secure barrel mounting method and component interchangability.
All of these qualities could be retained with a conventionally stocked AR upper hybrid.
The detachable box fed mag semi auto feature I could live without if we are forced to.


I do realize that if they are actually banning/confiscating ARs they will likely go of the rails with the same approach to every components.....but maybe not????

If I have to turn in all the parts they will be cemented in a 5 gallon bucket. . .right now go out and vote conservative. . .if we need to organize a cement bucket campaign we can do that as last resort. Like many have mentioned I will not be providing photo op material.

My guess is we would be left with no parts. Trying to make a single shot rifle will be a no go. Just a guess.
