FNM 71-6. Portuguese M937 brass. Some of the NICEST 8x57 brass ever imported; too good NOT to keep.
It CAN be converted to Boxer, safely, just as long as you keep your loads to a sane level.
Problem is that people read the 'funny-papers' too much (the American gun press, which generally is trying to sell you the Wunderwehr of the Month) and assume that NOTHING is any good if it doesn't operate at a zillion psi and give a 4400ft/sec MV.
It doesn't matter how fast the bullet flies. What matters is if you can hit your target with the thing.
Most military cartridges function very nicely and accurately at UNDER the military specs. They used the maximum SAFE loads. Generally, the most accurate loads already had been determined. The mania for high-pressure results in the steel lining of your barrel blowing out the muzzle in the form of vapour. It does nothing for accuracy.
I would rather get another 5,000 fairly accurate rounds out of a decent barrel..... than get all the velocity the funny-papers say I NEED.... and a new barrel every year.
But that FNM brass is really nice stuff...... too good to toss.
