So I have some .223 that misfed in my rifle today and there are dents in the casing.

What do people do with garbage rounds? I don't reload so I don't have anyway to reuse this stuff?

Most ranges have something to dispose of duds or misfires if you were at a range. If not, pull the bullet and spread the powder on your lawn (fertilizer) or flush it and put a few drops of oil in the case to deactivate the primer.

I try and shoot them again, if that fails, they go in the "can" at the range. I've also chucked duds in the wood stove at the camp before . Does that ever stress people out :D

daveg - dispite what we know will acutally happen to that carterage I'd still be tempted to give you a wack if you did it in my camp.

Try to fire em again and if not dispose of them properly

I like to keep them and simply take the bullet out , remove all powder and deactivate the primer , they make perfect dummy rounds if theyre clean enough or simply a show piece for people i run into who have never seen firearms or ammunition before .

They make it able to start a very unique conversation ive already gotten many of my friends wanting to go to the range or get their licenses just from showing them my firearms and what the ammunition looks like , without the risk of introducing them to live ammunition in an unsafe environment.

"...still fits the chamber, you can fire it..." Yep. The dent won't bother anything.
Keep your brass. You'll be reloading sooner or later. Shooting factory gets expensive quickly.
