What to do with my Norc. 1911 Commander?

So I've been thinking...

I've got my Glock, which I enjoy. I have my AR-15, which is my hobby platform. I have my Mossberg 500, and my Weatherby .300 winmag.

And then I have my 1911 Norinco Commander. It's a fun gun, I've put 200 rounds through it and I'm sitting on 600 more. It has 3 mags, and a Blackhawk SERPA carbon fiber holster.

I'm pretty sure I want to sell the Norinco. it's a fun gun but I think I want to sell it. Is there any interest in them? I know they make a great platform for modification. Right now though, I'm just weighing whether it's better to hold on to it to mod later or sell it and throw the cash at my AR...

Ah yes, the perenial 'gun-guy' question.... "What to do next"?

If you don't have a big attachment to the Norc compact then sell it. You should see quick turn around and then can put your $$ to other uses...;)

There is continual interest in them in the EE, generally priced around $300-$350 shipped unless a lot of work has been done or a great number of rounds fired. Yours sounds like it has neither, so around the $350 is probably reasonable. Add extra for the accessories you are selling with it.

I've got 6 different firearms I haven't shot in over 5 years....... I seem to just aquire, I seldom sell anything that "works". I buy it and I shoot the crap out of it (kinda like a new girlfriend in the "bunny stage"), if it shoots good I keep it.... If it don't I tend to get rid of them fairly quickly.

Now if I buy something and it doesn't "fit" or I just feel its not for me or the accuracy I was expecting isn't there..... I get rid of it quick. Before I become attached to it...... Oh yeah that can happen!

When you say its a "fun gun".... Do you mean its a blast to shoot & accurate as heck?
If it is then I say keep it, especially if you think that you may want to "do it up" in the future.

If you mean its a blast to shoot but the accuracy is "meh" or you can't hit the broad side of a barn.....
I say get rid of it. Especially as there seems to be alot of interest in them right now.

If you are constanly looking at the norc on range day and opting to not take it along as its just too much bother to bother..... I would have to say it's just not your fave and I understand the urge to sell it off. I would even go so far as to reccomend the sale of it in this case. Obviously its not the "one for you", the adage "there are many fish in the sea" fits in this case.

I have heard many many stories of guys who sold guns/cars/tools etc.... they wish they hadn't, I myself plan to never be one (Lord willing and if the creek don't rise).... except for that one car I sold when I first got married.......
