What to do with my old barrel...

I was blessed to be given a Lakefield Mossberg 400G 12 gauge (Canadian Mossberg 500)

It is from mid 70's chambered for 2-3/4 and 3" shells. The barrel is 30" with full choke. Heard a lot about steel shot wrecking these old full choke barrels.

I found a new barrel with accuchoke system for a screaming deal.

New to shotguns and newer to waterfowl I want to go shoot some clays for some shooting experience.

Old barrel has no vent or rib but the new one does. So for practice I was thinking I should just get used to the new barrel.

Now what to do with the old one? I thought about cutting it down for a defense/camp gun but also have a hard time slaughtering an old made in Canada firearm part haha. Nostalgia maybe? Any suggestions? The barrel isn't perfect, rubbed a bit where the slide runs and looks like some scratches from a boat maybe. Do people buy or trade these old barrels?

Thanks for any help.

You have a very versatile set up now. Sell it on the EE, probably the buyer will have an 18" shotty already and this will be his clays barrel.
