Hi guys,
I have a Sako 300wsm finnlight that im not happy with. I was thinking to sell it and build something or dump the barrel and stock. If I build something it will be used for shooting on my 600 yard range soon to be 1000yards. I will be using it for hunting also. What would you guys do? what would you build?

Is the action worth building a rifle on?

It's not consitent. You woud shoot some awsome groups then they would be all over the place. 1/2inch groups then 1 1/2. I've tried different shooters and it's the same.

I would like to know what the stock tensions should be. I called Stoeger and the said there are none. That's bull.

They have a pencil thin barrel,, I can see heating of the barrel also being an issue, with a cartridge like the 300 WSM.

Handloads or factory ammo?, what scope? muzzlebreak? done any trigger work? how many shot groups? 1/2" to 1"1/2 groups is a big difference , could be the stock aswell,, not sure LOL

I had a lightweight 300 wsm for a while and while I could get it to shoot about 1 inch generally, groups varied a fair bit.

I blame recoil.

The Finnlight V Action is a great action to build on.

Sell it to somebody that wants it and never look back. Start over and build a better rifle and get a scope for free!

Good luck selling a V action for a wsm cartridge, especially when someone is spending decent money on a Sako.
Try a new BBL, that will most likely tighten up those groups, then go to a McMillan and you'll have a shooter. Better yet call Sako on their accuracy guantee of 1" five shot groups, maybe they will send you a new Sako or fix your problem.

Cheers!!

sako wsm

i have the identical rifle in a 270 wsm it shoots great but if the barrel temp raises just a **** hair it will not shoot. Ok for hunting first 2 shots is all you should need try some barns ttsx bullets.
